If you travel the world and play poker as often as I do, you start to get a feel for the best (and worst) the world has to offer when it comes to poker rooms.
Some poker rooms just don’t care; they want to provide players with a few seats, a worn green felt table, a deal and a grunt or two when it comes time to ante up. Others, however, really shine. Elaborate locales, fancy drinks (comped, naturally), and comfortable roomsyou name it.
The first room that comes to mind is in, of all places, Las Vegas. It’s the Bellagio and its 7,000 square ft., 40 table poker room–and two high-limit areas. One of those rooms is the magnificent Bobby’s Room. This exclusive two-table room was named in honor of 1978 World Series of Poker Champion and MGM MIRAGE Chief Design and Construction Officer, Bobby Baldwin.
But it doesn’t end there. This smoke-free poker room also includes 24-hour table-side dining, comp beverage service, overhead state-of-the-art music system, plasma TVs, and a dedicated cashier cage. Watching over every game that takes place there is artwork depicting famous Bellagio tournaments and World Poker Tour events.
Now that’s a poker room I wouldn’t mind losing in. Well, maybe not. Stay tuned for more great poker rooms in the near future.
